Union Minister for State Kiren Rijiju lambasts Congress over Racist Remarks

Guwahati: Union Home Minister for State, Kiren Rijiju lambasted at the opposition Congress over allegations of hurting Tribal sentiments by mocking the headgears of Northeastern tribes as hilarious.

An offended Rijiju in his facebook post today wrote, “I demand apology from the Congress Party for insulting the people of India's North East & Tribals. Terming North-East & Tribal headgears as outlandish & hilarious is ridiculing the cultural identity. We are proud Indians and take pride in our rich heritage.”

A strong protest against the Congress comments had flooded into social media platform Facebook and most have denounced such acts of mockery when state sentiments have been hurt.
