United Nations Association’s Excellence Certificate To Sabah Ahmed For Poetry

GUWAHATI: City-based poet Saikh Md. Sabah Al-Ahmed has been awarded with the Certificate of Excellence by the United Nations Association (UNA)-Assam for his contributions in the field of poetry.

UNA is an NGO that exist in various countries to enhance the relationship between the people of member States and the United Nations. The NGO raises public awareness of the UN and its work. It promotes the general goals of the UN.

The certificate was recently given to Sabah Ahmed by Aswini Sarma, Secretary General, UNA-Assam at a simple ceremony at its Khanapara office.

“Ahmed’s poems have gone global from Assam, and have been translated into Italian. Going by his contributions in the field of poetry we have decided to award him the UNA certificate to Ahmed,” Sarma said.

Receiving the certificate, Sabah said he is humbled by the UNA’s honour and it will inspire him to work more sincerely to enrich the field of poetry. It may be mentioned here that Sabah’s poems have been translated into Italian by the renowned Italian poet Giorgio Moio in the Italian poetry magazine Frequenze Poetiche.
