Upadhaya family helps trafficked girl from Dhekiajuli unite with her family

DHEKIAJULI: Amrita Munda, daughter of Taishil Munda of Munabag Tea Estate under Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle, fell victim to human traffickers three years back. She was rescued by Anjali Upadhaya and Joy Upadhaya in Noida recently. On Wednesday, the Upadhaya family brought her to Guwahati by Rajdhani Express and handed her over to her family members in Paltan Bazar Railway Station. Amrita Munda was taken away by a person named Sunil to Noida and she was sold to Chandip Chapra of Noida three years ago. During her stay with the Chabra family, she was tortured physically and not paid any salary.

Recently, she managed to come out of the residence of the Chabra family and took shelter in the house of the Upadhaya family. She narrated her story to them. The Upadhaya family admitted her to a Noida based hospital and treated her. Later, the Upadhaya family lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police and contacted the Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle Officer Sabyasachi Kashyap to inform the family members of Amrita Munda.

The Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle Officer informed the family members of Amrita and accordingly, the family members reached Guwahati Railway Station on Wednesday. Amrita was handed over to them by the Upadhaya family. The people of greater Dhekiajuli have lauded the noble step taken by the Upadhaya family.
