Upcoming Assamese Film 'Janaknandini'

Janaknandini' - a new Assamese movie based on Satriya dance, culture and heritage of Majuli, produced by Rinku Das and Kunjalota Gogoi Das under the banner of Niji Productions, is waiting to be released.

Directed by Amitabh Bora, who has also written the story and the screenplay, the film is the story of a simple girl, a dancer, who is immersed in the Sattras and Sattriya culture of Majuli, where people have managed to cling to their cultural identity.

This upcoming film's dance sequences have been choreographed by Nrityacharya, Padmashree Jatin Goswami.

The various roles are played by Gunjan Bhardwaj, Nandini Kashyap, a trained Satriya dancer, Arun Nath, Madhurima Choudhury, Rupom Barua, Gautam Bora, Gauranga Bordoloi, Barish Dutta and Nilakshi Hazarika.
