Valour's Day observed

Golaghat, April 12: The 142 battalion, CRPF observed Valour’s Day at battalion head quarter Jokigar of Golaghat district recently. The Valour’s Day is celebrated in remembrance of an act of unparalleled bravery displayed by a small contingent of CRPF personnel, pitted against a full-fledged infantry brigade of Pakistani Army trying to overcome their post at Sardar Post and Tak post, Rann of Kutch, Gujarat on April 9, 1965. They not only defeated the Pakistani brigade but also killed 34 enemy soldiers and captured four of them. During the celebration of Valour’s Day, Om Prakash, Commandant took guard salute at the ceremonial function.
