GUWAHATI, March 20:  varang club defeated Gauhati Town club (GTC) by 28 runs in the Bhupen Chandra Mahanta GSA 'A' Division Cricket League match held at the Nehru stadium here today. Gauhati Town club won the toss and invited the opponent to bat first in the game. varang, rode on two half centuries from Ranjit Changmai (68) and Sunny Mandal (52), piled up 193-7 in their 35 overs. Ranjit played 73 balls to score 68 runs with the help of three boundaries and one six. Sunny Mandal took 75 balls and hit five boundaries on way to score 52 runs. Dilip Bora (3-35) was the most successful bowler for Gauhati Town club. In reply Gauhati Town club  bowled out 165 in 33.2 overs thanks to two nice spells from Sadek Imran Choudhury (4-31) and Abir Chakraborty (3-17). Ram Kripal Gupta (44) and Nitin Das (32) were the major contributors for Gauhati Town club.
