Vasectomy fortnight launched at Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Science (TRIHMS)

ITANAGAR: Non-scalpel vasectomy fortnight is being observed by the Arunachal Pradesh Health & Family Welfare department from Wednesday at Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Science (TRIHMS). The programme with the theme - Purusho ne apnaya nai pehchan parivar niyojon mein baaghidar se badhaya samman, would culminate on December 4 next.

State Health & Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang released balloons and flagged off a bullet rally on the occasion. Libang appealed the male citizens of the State to improve their participation in the reproduction health system. Special secretary (Health) Dr Kinni Singh in his speech while stating that small family is a happy family, appealed the male members of the society to share the burden of family planning along with their wives and adopt non-scalpel vasectomy. Earlier, TRIHMS director Dr Moji Jini informed about the latest sterilization, namely non-scalpel vasectomy in which the beneficiaries do not suffer any pain and problem. Later the Minister accompanied by Dr Kinny and Dr Jinni visited the ongoing construction site of the new OPD building and other branches which is scheduled to be completed by the end of March next year. The programme is being observed in every district throughout the state, an official communiqué informed here.
