Vendors manhandled, rescued by police

JOYSAGAR, July 13: Sivasagar Police along with Moranhut Police have rescued two local cloth vendors from Sepon-Bokota Road on Thursday evening. As per reports received, local villagers of the area suspected the vendors to be child lifters and sensation broke loose while some villagers even started to manhandle the vendors. However, some conscious persons informed the police about the incident and police rushed in from Sivasagar and Moranhut to the spot and were able to rescue the vendors. The vendors have been identified as Hashim Ullah and Inamul Ali of Haripara and Betbari area of Sivasagar. Later, the police conducted medical examination of the vendors and handed them over to their family members, sources informed.
