Veteran jourlist, intellectual Keshav Saikia no more

GOLAGHAT, Jan 4: Veteran jourlist, intellectual, writer, sport enthusiast, educationist and social worker Keshav Saikia (76) passed away at his residence at around 6 pm on Monday.

Saikia who suddenly fell sick in the evening after having tea and betel nut in a nearby hotel was soon rushed to the hospital by family members but he was declared dead by the doctors at Kushal Konwal Civil Hospital.

Many organization and institutions have condoled his demise. It may be mentioned that on Sunday, Saikia was conferred the Mahendrath Hazarika award for his distinguished service towards the society.
