Veteran tribal leader and educationist Charan Narzary hospitalized at Down Town Hospital in Guwahati

KOKRAJHAR: Veteran Tribal leader, former MP, founder secretary of Plains Tribal Council of Assam (PTCA) and educationist Charan Narzary who was admitted at RN Brahma Civil Hospital, Kokrajhar recently has been referred to Down Town Hospital in Guwahati on Wednesday for treatment. Narzary fell down at his Mwiderkhoro residence in Kokrajhar recently and was hospitalized.

Narzary who led the ‘Udayachal’ movement for the tribal people under PTCA served many years as MLA and MP. He was also the professor of Kokrajhar College before joining politics. He is also a noted writer and poet. Entire tribal communities of the State came together for the cause of tribal people in their leadership but the political scenario completely changed after the ABSU started a mass movement for separate State. The president of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) Taren Boro and his vice president Kamala Kanta Mashahary on Thursday visited the hospital and met Charan Narzary who is being treated in Guwahati. Boro and Mashahary talked to Narzary and his family members and wished for early recovery.
