Veteriry nursing assistant programme held
GUWAHATI, May 30: A veteriry team of qualified instructors of 1st BN tiol Disaster Response Force located in Guwahati under the supervision of S K Sastri, Officer Commandant has been imparting two weeks veteriry nursing assistant training to 30 personnel of NDRF from all twelve NDRF Battalions May 23. The subjects which are being covered during the training are first aid of animals, common diseases of animals and animal’s behavior, a press release said.
These disasters cause loss to human lives, property as well as live stock. Now the time has come to take effective measured to minimize this loss especially focusing on animals who are mute sufferers. The need is to take a holistic approach & engage in live stock emergency magement. The training will focus on the ways to mage flood, shelter & medicines for animals & their owners in case of disasters. Our animals equally need people to be prepared so they can protect them from injury & suffering when disasters strike. We are here to plan sustaible disaster magement solution that will help to protect not only our communities but also the animals that 70% of our people depend upon for survival.
S K Sastri said, “We are planning sustaible Disaster Magement solution that will help to protect not only our communities but also the animals, the 1st NDRF is providing service in north eastern states. Flood in Assam is a regular phenome & this causes loss to human lives, proportiolly as well as livestock. We will certainly find way to minimize this loss and also focus on animals who are mutely suffers.”
