Village Development Mission's foundation day observed

 DISHANGMUKH, May 2: The 2nd Foundation Day of Inner India Village Development Mission (INDVM) was observed at Dwarika Barpatra High School in Sivasagar on Wednesday with colorful programme. The programme started with hoisting of flag by INDVM president Bhuban Chandra Gogoi. The flag hoisting programme was followed by planting of sapling by Rishith Gogoi, president of Dwarika Barpatra High School magement committee.

The open session, which was held at 12.00 am, was presided over by INDVM president Bhuban Chandra Gogoi. Hemanta Kumar Gogoi, general secretary of INDVM explained the objective of the meeting. In the open session, freedom fighters Khaniram Mili and Bhagyalata Gogoi, sportsman Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah, ADC Hemakanta Pegu, sculpture Angshuman Gogoi, educationists Biman Konwar and Munindra th Gogoi, and athlete Sudipta Chetia were felicitated with citation and gamossa.  A book titled Idenor Pora Baikunthaloi written by Bhuban Gogoi was released in the event by ADC Hemanta Pegu. The programme was also attended by former official of ONGC Sushil Boro, social activist Ratikanta Bora, village head Nilakanta Gogoi, executive president of INDVM and Sushil Barua.  The students of Dwarika Barpatra High School under the direction of teacher Rat Hatimuria performed a chorus in the beginning of the programme.  It may be mentioned that that the INDVM has decided to set up a model village at Hashan Tea Estate here.
