MARGHERITA, May 10: Bom Bahadur Chetry (50) village headman of 1 No mdang Golai Gaon under Borgolai Gaon Panchayat, Margherita Police Station, has been accused of rape.
The incident took place recently at night at Chetry’s house. The victim is a 14-year girl who was staying on rent in Chetry’s house. Soon after news of this rape spread, an irate mob gheraoed Chetry and beat him. Police have registered case No 126/15 IPC 376,R/W Section POCSO Act at Margherita Police Station and he has been sent to jail.
