Vivanta launches sigture oriental restaurant

Guwahati, Jan 23: Vivanta by Taj–Guwahati, Assam celebrated the launch of its fine dining restaurant ‘Umami’. Binding the nuances of oriental flavours on a vivacious palate, the restaurant would play host to numerous discerning travellers in the region.

Commenting on the occasion, Krishan Aggarwal, General Mager, Vivanta by Taj – Guwahati, Assam said, “We are absolutely delighted on the launch of our sigture oriental restaurant. With a fine mix of fresh flavours and unique cuisine styles, we hope to provide our guests with true epicurean delights with this experience.”

Hosted by General Mager, Krishan Aggarwal, the evening saw the crème de la crème of the city’s social circle to celebrate this special occasion. Eminent jourlists, renowned opinion leaders, food bloggers and socialites graced the event on this momentous occasion.

“A true myriad of many aromas and flavours, this restaurant is the next address for fine dining in the city. We are elated to bring to the table a vibrant spread of Chinese and Japanese delicacies centred on the ‘Umami’ principle for our guests to explore,” said Chef Anirban Dasgupta.

The emboldening menu offers a wide selection of fresh seafood, meats and vegetables cooked in Sichuan Style. From the entrees to the main course, the menu has sigture dishes like Katsus, Braised duck, Ba flower, Hainese style drunken chicken, Yakisoba, Hargou, Bao, Gouza to me a few.

The restaurant has an array of domestic and imported wines from all over the world with an intriguing infusion of hand crafted cocktails and local ingredients. Conceptualisation of the menu is based on simplicity with a complex twist in flavours, innovative design is inspired by kimono graphics and Japanese elements.

With enchanting high ceilings, accentuated mood lighting and a glass wall overlooking the lawn, the restaurant showcases impeccable marble architecture on the walls and vases, show plates and oriental antiques exemplifying contemporary style with elegance.
