VM Trophy: Jharkhand thrash Assam

GUWAHATI: Assam lost to Jharkhand by an innings and 144 runs in the VM trophy match at Abhayapuri today.

In reply to Jharkhand’s first innings total 406-5 declared, Assam were bowled out paltry 105 runs in their first innings.

In the second innings too Assam batsmen failed to perform and the side managed to score 157 runs losing all wickets. Shivam Mittal (45) was the top scorer in the second innings. Dhruv Raaj Borah (32), Nihar Narah (25) and Ankush Mazumdar (24) were the other batsmen who scored two-digit runs.
