Wancho Students Union (WSU) organizes free eye camp at Kanubari

KANUBARI: To eradicate eye problem in the district first Free Eye Screening Camp was organized by Wancho Students Union (WSU) in collaboration with RamaKrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar at Government Higher Secondary School, Kanubari on Tuesday.

The camp was supported by, state Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Minister of Education Honchun Ngandam, MLA 59th Longding Constituency Thangwang Wangham, MLA 58th Kanubari Constituency Gabriel D. Wangsu. Gabriel D. Wangsu speaking to this daily said that eye problems are major obstacle in a student’s life. He also informed that, today I wear spectacle and if I had my eye screened 22 years before today I have been not wearing it. Though I was unlucky to get eye screened earlier but the students of today should not face the same consequences. It is positive move by the district students union to come up with such camps providing help to the students at their doorsteps, he added. He also informed that earlier many a times such health camps were organized in the district. Few proposal of organizing such camps by some groups were rejected because of the commercial interest. “No doubt health camps in such interior constituency like Kanubari is needed and we will be organizing more such camps in future too,” he added.
