Water supply in New Silchar area likely be regularized from today

SILCHAR, May 13: Water supply in New Silchar area will be regularized from today. This has been assured by Abhrajit Chakraborty, Commissioner, Silchar Municipal Board. Owing to the devastating hailstorms, there has been a major cut in power supply of the area which has led to acute shortage of water. Niharendra rayan Thakur, chairman, Silchar Municipal Board, Chameli, co-president, Silchar Municipal Board, Ashim Das, commissioner, Silchar Municipal Board visited the places where people have been suffering from acute shortage of water. The members of Silchar Municipal Board present stated water will be provided with the help of Silchar Municipal Board’s vehicle. Abhrajit Chakraborty also said that work is going on in full swing so that the supply of water can be made regularized at the earliest. He further said that in case residents of the area do not get water, Silchar Municipal Board will distribute water through its vehicle. This has provided the residents a reason for rejoicing since they have been struggling for water for long.
