Ways to reduce rate of road accidents discussed

PATHSALA, July 10: In pursuance of the directives issued by the Supreme Court, the road safety committee of Barpeta district held a meeting at the office premise of the Barpeta Deputy Commissioner under the presidentship of Thaneswar Malakar. The meeting discussed how to reduce the rate of road accidents in Barpeta district. All total 59 people lost their lives and many were injured in road accidents this year in Barpeta district. The meeting adopted some means like no permission to sell petrol to bikers without helmet and entry restriction to students without helmet in colleges. The meeting was also discussed regarding one-sided parking facilities at Pathsala.
