Tezpur, May 8: Reiterating that forming a government by BJP after May 19 in Dispur was confirmed, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and State president of BJP, Sarbanda Sonowal on Sunday said that in return for the people’s remarkable mandate in this election towards the saffron party, responding to Prime Minister rendra Modi’s appeal to stand against corruption perpetrated by the Congress party during their 15-year rule in the State, candidates returning as MLA from every LAC would have to make a commitment of doing good for the common people and address common developmental issues before the seniors of the society to express their gratitude towards them. The BJP State president, who was addressing a post-poll party meeting at Ketekibari, in his speech further said that the BJP-led government in the State would lay stress on good governce and proper development, bringing a change so that the State could become one of the top five States in the country.

Tezpur MP, RP Sharma, while addressing the meeting claimed that BJP would form the government in the State and after May 19 there would be a responsibility towards the 3.30 crore people of Assam. “Their development, employment generation, solution to the unemployment problem will be our prime duty,” he said, adding that after the formation of the government by BJP it would take special measure to check rampant corruption. Claiming that BJP was the party having the highest number of members in the world, RP Sharma said that there were altogether 28 lakh members of the party in Assam. MP Rameswar Teli in his speech, while criticizing two local news channels, said that during the pre-poll environment he was attacked with biased reporting to malign his image among the voters. “Being misled with these reports people vandalized my house. But there is no use of this as despite this propaganda by the motivated agencies, mandate towards us from 85 per cent voters was witnessed spontaneously in Upper Assam. The total eight LACs under Dibrugarh parliamentary segment will come to BJP,” he said.

The meeting held under the president ship of Sonitpur district president of the saffron party, Mril Saikia, was attended by State observer Mahendra Singh, State organizing secretary, Phani Sharma, State secretary Diganta Ghatwar, spokesperson Ritubaran Sharma, among others.
