BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary sounds poll bugle at Kalaigaon, addresses massive rally

MANGALDAI, January 22: Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary today said that the BPF is determined to bring a total change in the BTAD areas of the State. Addressing a mass rally at Kalaigaon in Udalguri district today, the BTC chief said, “The BPF is determined to bring a total change in the BTAD areas of Assam and keeping it in mind the BPF has decided to extend support to the BJP outside the BTAD areas in the ensuing assembly polls. The BPF is not only for the Bodos living in the BTAD areas, but is for the all-round welfare and development of all the castes, ethnic groups living in the BTAD areas irrespective of their caste, creed, language or their religion.”

Mohilary said that after the miserable failure of the Asom Ga Parishad (AGP) to fulfill the aspirations of the common people of the state, the BPF is the only regiol political party to ensure and protect the lives of all the citizens living in the BTAD areas.

Though the Election Commission of India (ECI) is yet to issue the notification on the Assembly poll in the state or the other political parties are yet to gear up their poll campaign in the state, the BPF handling the helm of affairs of the BTAD areas for the fourth consecutive terms have already geared up their poll campaign in all the 16 Legislative Assembly constituencies evoking tremendous and overwhelming response from cross section of the society.

“So long the support of the people is with us, no political parties in the state could form the government in the state” added over confident Mohilary.

He described it as very unfortute that former two-time Chief Minister cum the leader of the  of the AGP,  Prafulla Kumar Mahanta had to attend a rally attended by only 2000 people in Kalaigaon on Thursday last. “We never make false assurances to our people. We are committed to fulfill the aspiration of all section of the society living in the BTAD areas. I assure you that BTC administration would construct the railway over bridge on MB Road in Tangla, would undertake the construction of the draige system in Kalaigaon town, will construct the long-felt bridge on river Nonoi at Tiapukhuri and the bridge on river Kalpani at Jhargaon in Kalaigaon under the proposed Rs. 1000 crores to be sanctioned by the Centre,” he assured.

He also said that the BTC administration would sanction the required fund for construction of Community Hall in holy memory of Mahapurusha Shankar Dev and Ajan Fakir in the areas outside the BTAD in Kalaigfaon LAC.

Significantly some of the close relatives of the AGP Legislator Mukunda Ram Chowdhury were seen taking part in the rally organized by the BPF at Kalaigaon today.

Addressing the rally former legislator of Kalaigaon, Maheswar Boro who has already been projected as the candidate of BPF for Kalaigaon LAC sought the blessings of the people and assured that like his previous tenure as the legislator of Kalaigaon he would be available to all section of the society without depending on any middleman.
