'We are not beggars to beg Kamatapur or ST categorization'

From our Correspondent

Bongaigaon, January 18:  The 48-hour long Kamatapur bandh called by Koch-Rajbongshi United Forum against Prime Minister rendra Modi’s visit to Kokrajhar from 5 am today disrupted normal life in Bongaigaon. All shops, markets and educatiol institutions remained closed while movement of vehicles was restricted throughout the day. No unwanted incident occurred till filing of the report.

Talking to media persons, Biswajit Ray, advisor of All Koch- Rajbongshi Students’ Union (Biswajit Ray faction) said that few self-made and self-centred ‘so-called’ Koch- Rajbongshi organizations had opposed the bandh called by KRUF. “They are opportunists and just using the me of the Koch Rajbongshi community for self-benefit. Today’s successful bandh has proved that they have no pubic base among Koch- Rajbongshi people. That organization which sits for secret discussion with BJP leaders at midnight and pretends to sit for discussion with Modi will soon be rejected by the Koch Rajbongshi people. We are not beggars to beg ST categorization and Kamatapur from Modi. That is our right and we must take it through agitation,” he said.
