We are obliged to our martyrs and to this land : AGP MLA Pradip Hazarika

JOYSAGAR: “We are doing politics, not for our selfish needs, but because we are obliged to the sacrifices of our great martyrs and to this land,” said Amguri MLA and also the general secretary of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), Pradip Hazarika while addressing the gathering at the AGP Amguri regional committee public meeting held on Wednesday in the Dikhowmukh Deogharia public hall of Sivasagar district.

AGP Amguri regional committee seems to be gearing up for the upcoming panchayat polls. Amguri MLA Pradip Hazarika took part in the public meeting as the chief guest. The meeting was presided over by AGP Amguri regional president A. Saikia. Hundreds of AGP grassroots workers and villagers were present in today’s meeting where several burning issues were discussed.

Besides, the Amguri MLA Hazarika formally announced the initiatives he had taken to construct the proposed Dikhowmukh-Kowoimari connecting RCC bridge over the Mitong River and he also revealed that the processes of allotment of PWD fund for the bridge was in final stage.

Meanwhile, the MLA also visited the ongoing construction site of the Dicial village-Khanamukh connecting PWD road being constructed under the State Government’s road construction scheme. AGP sources said that in the Amguri regional committee area, the party would fight the panchayat polls alone without having any understanding with other political parties, not even the BJP. “There will be no seat sharing or understanding with other parties. Voters have faith in the Party,” said party sources.
