FROM A CORRESPONDENT

Golaghat, Feb 11:  The mysterious death of an employee of  Numaligarh Refinery Limited in Golaghat has created sensation in the town.  According to sources, Biplob Bhowmick (35), a resident of Hindi School Road in Golaghat, had celebrated his marriage anniversary on Thursday night. In the function, Biplob Bhowmick’s wife Anindita Bhowmick had invited two of her male friends and they all celebrated together. But sensation prevailed on Friday morning when Biplob’s body was found inside his room. The incident seems to be a suicide but the family members of Biplob Bhowmick alleged it to be a planned murder and filed a complaint at Golaghat Police Station against Anindita Bhowmick and her two friends. The police have started investigation and detained the two male friends of Anindita. On Saturday, Anindita Bhowmick was also detained by the police and she was interrogated. Anindita revealed that on that particular night she was also in a drunken condition like the others. When the party was over she had a quarrel with her husband and after that her husband committed suicide by hanging himself. She then called her two friends over phone and sought help. The two friends returned and helped her to bring down the body.  But question has been raised as to why without informing the police, Anindita and her two friends touched the body of Biplob Bhowmick. She also stated that her husband had a suicidal tendency and he had attempted to commit suicide earlier.
