Wild Jumbo Kills 1 At Chariduar Area In Sonitpur District

TEZPUR: A person was killed by a wild elephant at the Chariduar area in Sonitpur district on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Kameshar Baghlari (50) of Santipur village no. 1 under Chariduar revenue circle near Nameri National Park in Sonitpur district. According to sources, while Kameshar was returning home the wild elephant suddenly appeared and killed him. Following information from the local people, in-charge of Chariduar police outpost along with a team of Forest personnel rushed to the spot and recovered Kameshar’s body, that was sent to Tezpur Kanaklata Civil Hospital for postmortem under the supervision of a magistrate.
