Wild tusker found dead in Udalguri

TANGLA: A male wild tusker aged about 15-16 years, believed to be a part of a herd coming down from forests in search of food, was found dead at Onaikhasbasti village near 1 No. Borengajuli under Khalingduar Reserve Forest area along the Indo-Bhutan border in Udalguri district on Saturday morning.

The forest officials and veterinarians have suspected food poisoning to be the reason behind its death. Though all its body parts, including tusks, were found intact, miscreants took away the trunk’s tip part.
