Will recommend CBI probe into graft charge: Rajkhowa

Itagar, Jan 31: Governor Jyoti Prashad Rajkhowa has hinted at recommending certain cases of corruption in the state either to CBI or NIA soon.

While interacting with representatives from Jan Andholan Committee led by Tame Phassang and People Party of Aruchal led by Kahfa Bengia and Kamen Ringu who called him at Raj Bhavan on Saturday, the governor said that specific cases would be directed to be sent to NIA and CBI at the earliest.

“Necessary actions are being initiated against the officials responsible for the derailing of administration and law and order break down,” he added.

He said, “President Rule is only an emergency measure and it will be only a temporary measure. Sooner or later, a democratically elected government will be here. However, until then law and order has to be maintained effectively at all cost and also we have to ensure good governce and will cull corruption that has badly affected the governce in the state for last many years.”

Rajkhowa appealed to the political parties for their fullest cooperation and to have patience. He said that funds including TFC grants would be distributed in equity and ratiolly.

He informed that strict message has given to the security forces to maintain law and order and at the same time to have humane approach in dealing with the common people.

The JAC members apprised the governor of their efforts in eradication of corruption in the State and hurdles in their endeavour.

Emotiolly appealing for the governor’s intervention in addressing the challenges of the state, PPA President Bengia, said that PPA deeply appreciate the imposition of President Rule in the state to stop the prevailing archy and had great expectation from the governor and the two advisors to him.
