Wind is blowing in favour of Congress, BJP’s condition is poor, asserts former CM Tarun Gogoi

Guwahati: Taking a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday at Rajiv Bhawan Guwahati, Former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi tagged Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary as fake Bharatiya Janata Party leaders.

Gogoi also claimed that the wind is blowing in favour of Congress ahead of the General elections 2019.

Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati, Gogoi mentioned that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is well aware of the ground reality of the Lok Sabha elections, therefore, the party high command had gone for some new faces ahead of the polls, thus dropping the veteran leaders from representing their present constituencies.

“They even overtook veteran BJP leader LK Advani in the centre while distributing tickets,” said Tarun Gogoi.

Gogoi further taunted, “As per my ‘Ponjika’ (almanac or annual calendar), State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s future will not be good and smooth.”

Also, talking about Badruddin Ajmal-led AIUDF, Gogoi said that the condition of the party is poor; therefore they have announced the names of only three candidates for the upcoming general elections. “We have no links with such kind of parties, hence, no question of forming an alliance with AIUDF,” clarifies Tarun Gogoi.
