Woman commits suicide

TINSUKIA, April 19: A 35-year-old woman ended her life after hanging self from a ceiling fan on Saturday night at VIP road of Xijuguri area in Tinsukia town. The deceased—identified as Prabha Devi—reportedly took the extreme step when her husband Ashok Prasad was not at home.  Meanwhile , the police arrested her husband when the woman’s family members lodged an FIR against him alleging that Prasad had killed his wife. Police have not recovered any suicide note from the house. The body of the woman have been sent to Tinsukia Civil Hospital for postmortem. The woman was killed allegedly by her husband and hanged the body from the ceiling fan, said locals.
