Woman found dead in Biswanath Chariali

Biswanath Chariali: Police arrested three persons in Shalaguri, Madhupur village under Jamuguri police station on Saturday night. Ritumani Borah, Kamini Borah and Mrinal Borah were arrested regarding the mysterious death of Ritumani’s wife, Champa Karmakar Borah on Friday.

Champa, daughter of Raju Karmakar of Vishnupur village of Nagshankar, married Ritumani nine months back and she had to allegedly undergo mental and physical torture by her husband’s family since then. Her body was recovered hanging with a rope in the bedroom. Jamuguri Police started investigation after Raju Karmakar lodged an FIR with Jamuguri police station alleging that his daughter was murdered in a planned manner by her in-laws.
