Doomdooma, April 30: Like previous years, this year also Basanta Utsav was celebrated by Doomdooma Sakha Lekhika Samaroh Samity at its permanent venue at Rupaisiding with pomp and gaiety. The celebration got underway with presentation of a group song by its members followed by secretary Junumoni Bora explaining the objectives of the meeting, presided over by president Dr Meena Devi Baruah. Dibyalata Deka, one of the seniormost members of the Lekhika Samaroh, presented a very lively and thought-provoking lecture on the topic ‘Spring season, nature and Rongali Bihu’. Thereafter the wall magazine of the Lekhika Samaroh was inaugurated by Dr Nita Pal, Associate Professor, Tinsukia Women College.
