Haflong, May 26: The Shakti Mahila Mandol, a frontline women’s organization of Haflong, has expressed anguish and serious concern over the alleged indifferent attitude of the NC Hills Autonomous Council. The organization had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the NC Hills Autonomous Council demanding ouster of alleged corrupt officer Dr Jadav Gogoi of the Veteriry Department.

The memorandum stated that Dr Gogoi was corrupt and had been charge sheeted by the CBI. The organization demanded that Dr Jadav Gagoi should be ousted so that no further damage could be caused to the Veteriry Department as well as to the society.

The NCHAC had earlier released Dr Jadab Gogoi before election but by convincing the district administration, he allegedly remained in the district in the me of election work. Later he was reinstated ignoring the people’s demand, said sources.

At this, the Shakti Mahila Mandol approached the Principal Secretary, NCHAC to know why and how Dr Gogoi was reinstated even after their complaint against him and also without constituting any enquiry into the matter. They also warned that if the council failed to resolve their concern, they would go for stronger agitation in the near future.

Parboti Thaosen, president of Shakti Mahila Mandol, warned that they would not sit quiet and would approach all the authorities concerned to get justice.

Meanwhile, the employees of the Veteriry Department have organized a protest rally on Friday to demand the ouster of Dr Jadav Gogoi.
