Dibrugarh, June 9: Shruti Silpi Samaj (SSS), a socio-cultural organization of Dibrugarh will organize a workshop on songs of Luit Konwar Rudra Barua, first of its kind, in Dibrugarh from July 9 to July 11. The former Director of Cultural Affairs, Swapnill Baruah who is also the son of Luit Konwar Rudra Baruah, is expected to iugurate the workshop. The resource persons of the workshop will be noted scholar on music, Dr Chabi Gogoi who obtained doctorate degree on songs of Rudra Baruah, and noted singer Dipak Kumar Gogoi. According to SSS secretary, Chandan Pathak, a colourful cultural night ‘Shrutimala’ will also be held to mark the occasion, “All singers and song composers of Dibrugarh will be invited on July 12 and offered an opportunity to sing their favourite song in the proposed cultural night. A colorful souvenir, Suranja will be brought out to mark the occasion,” he said.
