World Book Day observed in gaon

GAON (HAIBORGAON), April 24: A pioneer voluntary organization of the district, North Eastern Development Council for Human Resource (NEDCHR) on Saturday observed World Book Day. The voluntary organization organized an awareness programme among children at its head office in gaon. In a press release, the secretary of the organization, Dr Jayanta Prasad Sarma stated that a semir on the topic, ‘The role of books in building of society’, was also held in which veteran litterateur Hemaprabha Bora Saikia, senior advocate of the district, Tapan Kumar Sarma, Dr PC Laskar, Dulal Bora, Khagen Gogoi, Labannya Bezboruah and other dignitaries delivered their lecture and appealed to the children to read various kinds of books.
