World Food Day observed in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Oct 16: The World Food Day was celebrated in Guwahati today with various programmes at Khapara. Organized by the Krishi Forum, a voluntary organization, the programmes were participated by several agricultural scientists, extension activists and farmers. According to a press release, Mowsam Hazarika, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Assam participated in the programme and delivered the keynote address on ‘Climate is Changing, Food and Agriculture Must Too’. He highlighted various agricultural schemes of the government, including Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yoja. A farmers’ interaction programme was also organized at the function.
