World Red Cross Day celebrated

MANGALDAI, May 8: Taking a step further in its unwavering commitment to serve the nation, the Army organized a blood donation camp on the occasion of World Red Cross Day and Thalassemia Day in association with District Health Department on Wednesday at the Army camp at Golandi in Udalguri district.

Army personnel and civilians participated actively with zeal in blood donation. Around 65 blood units were collected and were donated to Mangaldai Civil Hospital Blood Bank in a goodwill gesture of humanity to promote fraternity, unity and brotherhood. Subdivisional Medical and Health Officer of Darrang district, Dr N K Beria and in-charge of Mangaldai Blood Bank, Dr. Daud Ali also attended the camp. An awareness programme on voluntary blood donation-cum-organ donation among the jawans was held.
