Silchar, June 2: In a bid to create awareness regarding environment and its protection, the members of the central committee of Youth Against Social Evils (YASE) is all set to observe World Environment Day which is on June 5. YASE will be organizing a number of competitions among the students regarding the topic ‘Environment’. On June 4, a recitation competition will be held at Daffodils School, Malugram from 11 am onwards. The one and half hour competition will be based on ‘Preservation of Environment’. On the following day, the members of YASE will plant saplings at various parts of the town of Silchar and organize an environment awareness camp.
On June 6, an art and drawing competition will be held at Gurukul High School, Silcoorie, from 11am onwards. The topic of the 2 hour competition has been selected as ‘Environment’. Interested candidates have been requested to report one hour before the stipulated time of competition for registration. Results of both the competitions will be declared on June 11. The candidates of both the competitions has been divided into two groups A and B. Students of classes V, VI and VII will be in group A while students of class VIII, IX and X in group B.
