GAON (HAIBORGAON), June 21: gaon district administration, in collaboration with Patanjali Yoga Samitee, on Tuesday observed Intertiol Yoga Day at gaon Nurul Amin Stadium.
Minister for Water Resource Keshab Mahanta, MP Rajen Gohain and MLA Rupak Sarma graced the occasion. The Deputy Commissioner of gaon, Adil Khan iugurated the function. Minister Keshab Mahanta in his speech stated, “Yoga is our ancient tradition and regular practice or activities of yoga can strengthen people mentally as well as physically. We can build our tion only when we all were able to acquire sound health.”
On the other hand, 8th Assam Bn. NCC, gaon, Haji Anfor Ali College, Nehru Yuva Kendra, gaon and other educatiol institutions, various voluntary welfare organizations also observed Intertiol Day of Yoga in gaon. 8th Assam Bn. NCC, gaon observed the Yoga Day at gaon Police Reserve play ground. Various demonstrations related to yoga were also displayed by the students of various schools and colleges of gaon district. All the events which were demonstrated and displayed, were accomplished under the supervision of Col. Debobrata Mahapatra, Commanding Officer of 8th Assam Bn. NCC, gaon, Anju Bora and teacher of gaon Boys’ HS School, Saiful Islam.
On the other hand, Haji Anfor Ali College, Doboka organized a yoga camp in its college premise in which a large number of students, teachers and other employees of the college actively participated. Various events of yoga were held during the camp. The Principal of the college, Dr. Mamun Azam Barbhuiyan iugurated the camp and in his speech he urged all of the participants to carry on yoga practice regularly and appealed to ensure a sound and good health. “Yoga not only builds the body, it strengthens the mind also,” he said.
