Young lady Jyothi Rongala cycles across India for world record

MANGALDAI: While all the enthusiastic countrymen were highly curious over the final countdown of the general election scheduled on May 23, a highly spirited and energetic young lady from the Southern district of East Godavari in Andhra Pradesh reached Kharupetia in Darrang district on the evening of May 21 covering her exceptional journey on bicycle that too unsupported and cashless with the ambition to enroll her name in the Guinness Book of world Records.

This amazing lady Jyothi Rongala had started her mission in 2017 and covered 10000 km on bicycle, which was disrupted due to an accident. However, that accident failed to stop this highly confident and brave lady in achieving her desired goal and continued her unique journey through seventeen states of the country. “My humble intention is to prove that Indian streets are safe for women traveler and its people are very rich in hospitality. My journey is unsupported and cashless and I never have availed my stay in government guest house or hotels. I took shelter in the residence of my well-wishers or in temples or in Gurudwaras” said Jyoti who used to cover 300 km to 400 km per day in her bicycle journey. The Marwari Yuva Mancha and Kharupetia Press Club accorded a rousing welcome this lady during her overnight stay in Kharupetia.
