Young worker dies at Dilkush tea estate

Silchar, Feb 17: Kamal Ali (25) has been killed as a pole, which he was trying to dig under the earth, slipped at Dilkush Tea Estate under Lakhipur police station on Wednesday. The work was being done under Deen Dhayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yoja scheme. Strangely enough, there was an agreement of some sorts between the contractors and workers that neither the police nor the civil administration would be informed about this. In compliance with this agreement, they buried the body at a mosque without informing the police or the civil administration. The police, however, got the news and dug up the body. The body has been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.
