Yousuf Raza Gilani's son recovered from Afghanistan after three years

Islamabad, May 10: Ali Haider Gilani, the son of former Pakistani prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, has been recovered from Afghanistan’s Ghazni province in a joint operation carried out by Afghan and US forces. News of Gilani’s recovery was first announced by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, chairman of Pakistan People’s Party, on Twitter, and was later confirmed by the Foreign Office, reported “PM @YR_Gillani received call from ambassador of Afghanistan. His son @haidergilani has been recovered in a successful operation. Alhamdulillah,” tweeted Bilawal Bhutto Zardari (@BBhuttoZardari). Ali Haider was kidpped by gunmen in Multan on May 9, 2013, days before he was slated to run for the Punjab assembly. (IANS)
