Youth critically injured in leopard attack

DULIAJAN, August 29: A youth received serious injuries in his mouth, neck and other parts of the body after being attacked by a leopard on  Sunday night at Madhubon under Duliajan police station. The critically injured youth has been identified as Bijoy Singh (27), son of Ratan Singh, resident of Madhubon under Duliajan police station. Local people immediately admitted him at OIL Hospital but due to his critical condition, he was sent to Guwahati for better treatment. According to sources, on Sunday night when Bijoy was with his friends near the Duliajan-Tinsukia road, Madhuban, then a leopard jumped at him and attacked him. Due to the cries of his friends and for movement of vehicles on the Duliajan-Tinsukia road, he was saved from the leopard.
