Youth killed in road mishap

GAON (HAIBORGAON), May 14: In a tragic road mishap on NH-37 road near rttamgaon village, 5 km from gaon town, on Sunday afternoon a bike rider was killed on the spot. According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Tafajjul Islam of Tezpur. The sources added here that the tragic accident took place when a truck (AS 01CC-5518) hit a bike (AS12N-5972) from behind. Interestingly, soon after the accident, some local people were able to stop the truck. They caught the driver of the truck and later gaon traffic police, along with the police of gaon Itachali TOP, rushed to the spot and was able to rescue the truck driver. The police have seized the truck as well as the bike of the deceased.
