Youth Parliament held at Lakhipur

Silchar, Feb 14: A Block level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament, sponsored by Nehru Yuva Kendra, was organized by Divyan Club on Saturday at 1030am, at 961 No. Jata L.P. School, Lakhipur Tea Estate. The programme was presided over by Kanta Singha, former president, Binkandie Ghat GP. Ashesh Bhattacharjee, yoga instructor, Silchar, threw light on the importance of yogic exercises and its good effects upon the mind and the body. He advised the assembly of more than 100 students who have come to attend the programme. An awareness discussion on various schemes, Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yoja, Jan Dhan Yoja, Sukanya Samriddhi Yoja, Mudra Bank Yoja and My Mobile … My Bank … My Wallet, was also held at the programme.

Speaking as the chief-guest on the occasion, Sudipta Roy, credit Councillor, UBI, Silchar, said if people can avail the facilities being provided under the schemes, they would be benefited in a number of ways. Among others present at the programme included, Rahim Uddin Laskar, accountant, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Gonesh Roy, secretary, Divyan Club, Lakhipur Tea Estate, Cachar, Satyawati Kamai, GP president, sports secretary, Tonoy Debroy, cultural secretary Hirala Rajak and cashier Gautam Debroy of Divyan Club along with representatives, members and resident of all the 9 GPs of Binkandie. Among others, who spoke at the programme included, Dhanikumar Rabidas, principal, No. Jata L.P. School, Lakhipur Tea Estate and Nilbir Singh, principal, P K College, Singerband. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by the sectary of Divyan Club, Gonesh Roy.
