Youth's death: Police waiting for autopsy report

SHILLONG, June 13: Police are waiting for the postmortem report of Samuel Synrem (23), whose highly decomposed body was recovered from Kyndong Rylla, Umiam Lake in Ri Bhoi district on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Superintendent of Police (City) Vivek Syiem said, “This is an untural death and we are investigating it from all angles to find out if there is any foul play involved in this case.”

Synrem a resident of Jaiaw Laitdom was reported missing since May 21 the day he had reportedly left home to collect his dues.

There were also reports that Synrem met with an accident while riding his bike at Jingthangbriew, Jaiaw and fell into the Wah Umkhrah River.

“We will look into every angle whether he met with an accident and fell down a bridge and drowned or if there is something more to the case.” He informed that the police are currently waiting for the postmortem report.
