'Youths should be prepared to meet challenges'

SHILLONG, Oct 1: Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya in-charge Education RC Laloo has urged the youths to be prepared to meet the challenges in the near future especially in this current generation which is very competitive. The Deputy Chief Minister urged the youths during the iugural function of the Meghalaya Youth Exchange Programme organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs here in Shillong. “During my generation in the 60s’ getting a government job was not an issue but now things have change everything has become more competitive,” Laloo said at the iugural function. He informed that when he completed his B.Sc in 1969, he received several offers from many educatiol institutions to take up a teaching job but he refused. According to him, the holding of such programme is important to make the youths of the State understand the challenges and to shares their experiences with others in order to bringing bond and unity. Laloo also suggested that the organisers should arrange such type of programme in remote area of the State.
