Zaloni secures Silicon Valley investment of $7.5 million

GUWAHATI, March 15: Zaloni, the data lake company, with a Development Center in Guwahati, Assam, announced earlier this week that it closed US $7.5 million in Series A fincing. Sierra Ventures, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm, led the funding round with participation from Baird Capital, a Chicago based venture firm. The company, which has been experiencing 100% year over year growth, will use the proceeds to fund further product innovation, sales and marketing, research and development, and intertiol expansion.

Zaloni is an award-winning provider of enterprise data lake magement solutions serving the Fortune 500. Zaloni was co-founded by Guwahati tives, Anirban (Ben) Sharma, CEO and Bijoy Bora, COO. This is the first time that a software company from this region has been funded by a Silicon Valley venture fund, or for that matter, any overseas technology-focused fund.

The Guwahati center, Zaloni Technologies India (Pvt) Limited, currently employs more than 100 software professiols, and the company is committed to continue its India operations from Guwahati. This year it has expanded its state of the art development center, and has generated business in local companies such as catering, travel, hospitality and others to support its workforce. This was stated in a press release.
