Ziro gears up for 'Mission Clean Kley River'

Itagar, Nov 1: The people of Ziro valley have geared up to clean the Kley River and its tributaries under the theme ‘Mission Clean Kley River’ after the announcement of the date by Apatani Youth Association (AYA) President Taku Chatung. It has been informed that November 13 next has been selected as the date for the big event which will witness a mega social service at Kley River while the locals have already started to arrange necessary equipments at their own level for the D-Day. The mission is an environmental conservation programme initiated by AYA under its primary mission of ‘Clean Ziro, Green Ziro’. Endorsing the movement of the AYA and its importance in environmental conservation, DC Kanki Darang on October 29 had declared November 13 as Clean Kley River Day for Ziro-I Circle vide its notification dated October 29 last and the day will be observed every year.
