Snigdha Barthakur Commemorative Trust organizes Zonal-level music competition

Doomdooma, July 10: Under the auspices of Snigdha Barthakur Commemorative Trust, Tinsukia and with active co-operation of NGO Naba Prayash and artist Giribala Das, a zonal-level competition on modern song was held on Sunday at Doomdooma Girls’ High School where altogether 39 people participated. Besides Doomdooma, the zonal-level competitions will also be held in different places like Tinsukia, Margherita, Duliajan and Dibrugarh of undivided Dibrugarh district and the final round of competition will be held at Tinsukia District Library auditorium on July 26 amongst zonal-level competitors where they will be awarded cash prize, trophy and certificates. In the beginning, journalist Arjun Baruah garlanded the portrait of Snigdha Barthakur while journalist Amulya Khataniar inaugurated the competition. All India Radio (AIR) artistes Doli Gogoi and Malavika Ghosh were the judges. Altogether seven competitors were selected. They are Bismita Das, Riya Shyam, Jimoni Moran, Nilakshi Moran, Debasmita Chaudhury, Nikita Baruah and Garima Bharali. The seven selected competitors were offered tree saplings on behalf of Naba Prayash.
