ITANAGAR: A four-member delegation of Ziro-Tai-Anando Bagan Highway Committee (ZTAHC) led by its chairman Larbin Nasi met MoS (Home) Kiren Rijiju in New Delhi on Sunday and submitted a two-point memorandum regarding ‘in-principal’ approval of NH from Daporijo (Upper Subansiri) to Dollungmukh (Lower Subansiri) via Dumporijo connecting NH-15 at Anando Bagan (125 Km) and construction of Potin-Pangin package of TAH.

The delegation apprised the MoS about the problem being faced by the people of Kamle, Upper Subansiri and Lower Siang districts due to the deteriorating road condition.

The stretch of Ziro-Daporijo-Tai road had never been maintained after it was taken over by MoRTH about 10 years back. As regards to Daporijo-Dollungmukh NH, the Committee, which had earlier decided that no land owner will claim compensation for acquisition of land along RoW, requested the Minister to take up with the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) authority for early survey & investigation and preparation of DPR within a stipulated time period in the current financial year. Regarding the Potin-Pangin section of TAH, the delegation requested to expedite early approval, sanction and award of works during this financial year.

While assuring to take up with the ‘appropriate’ authorities for early materialization of proposal, Rijiju advised the team that there has to be change of mindset in our people so far as construction of such mega projects are concerned in the state. He also expressed displeasure over delay of land acquisition process leading to delay in implementation of TAH project, a press release informed on Tuesday.
