From our Correspondent

KOKRAJHAR, Nov 26: State Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma on Saturday iugurated the newly constructed Zubi Guest House at Chapaguri, Bongaigaon in Chirang district in presence of many Church leaders and Catholic followers.

Brahma formally iugurated the new guest house dedicated in memory of Rev. Father Josehpmariazubizarretta, fondly known as Fr. Zubi, the founder priest of Bengtol Catholic Mission of Chirang. Fr. Zubi founded the Bengtol Mission at Bengtol which was once extremely backward in all spheres. After establishment of Bengtol Mission and Baptist Mission at Tukrajhar, which is also not far from Bengtol, the local people became enlightened after getting education under Missiory establishments. Nowadays, Bengtol and Tukrajhar are not far behind other parts of lower Assam districts.

Talking to reporters, Brahma said the foundation of a guest house in memory of Fr. Zubi on the part of the Missiories was a great and praiseworthy initiative. She said the guest house would be able to accommodate guests coming from across the country and outside. She assured that she would extend help for construction of upper storey of the guest house. Hundreds of Catholic followers from various districts of lower Assam attended the function.
